The Military Is Beautifying Our Neighborhood

For about a year, the house across from us has been for sale. It’s owner, a very sweet woman, went down south to help rebuild after the hurricanes (that’s what her self-owned business does) and she ended up with one house too many.

Well, it finally sold about a month ago and I must say, I am pleased as punch.

You see, two strapping young military men bought the house. I haven’t been over to talk to them yet, but my sons have, and there’s a raging debate going on as to whether they’re Navy or Marines. (Each son claims to have heard something different. Maybe there’s one of each.)

Either way, these nice fellows often sit out in the front yard just playing guitar, or playing with the dog. Every few days they have friends over - more strapping young military men - and I tell ya, the scenery out of the front window has definitely improved; especially since it’s warmed up and they seem to have many more pairs of surfer shorts than they do t-shirts. *wiggles eyebrows*

Okay, I know it’s petty… but boy they sure do beautify the neighborhood. Yes, indeedy.  Anyone wanna join me on the front porch for some sweet tea and bird-watching? ;)

Melissa Busekros is home!

Melissa Busekros, the German homeschooled teen who was forcibly removed from her home 3 months ago and forced to live with a foster family and attend public school, is home today!

She could be removed again, though, and there are 5 children from other families who have been placed into the custody of the government for homeschooling but haven’t been removed from their homes yet.

Click here for more info on Melissa Busekros and the other homeschooling German families.

  • My elephant ears survived the winter and multitude of unexpected frosts these past few weeks and are poking up some baby ears
  • We’re all feeling much better and hopefully the bug-passing phase is over
  • Hubby doesn’t mind picking my cooked chickens all the time
  • Hubby’s pretty handy with house-fixing projects (he just needs reminding that they need to be done, lol)
  • My new Palm T|X is still under warranty, because it died. For some reason it started working again! Woohoo!
