Remember my hope chest from my first Tackle It Tuesday project? It didn’t really get included in the “after” picture because it had moved - but it has become a great little seat that is extremely SOFT.

Don’t believe me? Ask its nearly-permanent resident, Alex… ![]()

I took one of our big HUGE soft blankets (it’s called a “mink”, but it’s not made of mink) and folded it up to fit the top of the hope chest. It’s a good 6 inches thick folded up that way. Then I took a little throw blanket of Mike’s that has tiger stripes on one side and all black on the other and wrapped the mink. It’s a nice soft velour type of material.
End result? This is quickly becoming the most-used seat in the house as everyone comes in and sits on it to do their reading, talk to me, or just stretch out for a few quiet minutes. Sure is better than the mess it used to be!

My SOFT BUNNY for this week, is posted.
What a nice place to rest, with hope.
Now that looks like a perfect place to cuddle up with a great book! My photo is up, please come and visit!
I like the looks of the hope box, looks very comfy now though.
We have a chest that looks almost like the one in your picture, we use it as a coffee table in our den and it looks great too. I guess in the future it could become seat like yours. I’m sure it’s an inviting place to be with those soft blankets.
What a great idea. Sounds like you made a great soft spot. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.
Forgot to say ~ Good luck with your motorcycle license. I know you will do great. I took the Motorcycle Safety Foundation course to get mine and was so glad. They teach so much great information. Let me know how it goes. I’d love to hear about it.
